Description
With the groundbreaking GammaMaster® nozzles, Slice Engineering presents its latest nozzle technology, which is the result of state-of-the-art developments in metallurgy and surface preparation. The nozzles have been specifically designed for printing with abrasive materials and ensure unbeatable thermal conductivity - without compromise!
Thermal performance
GammaMaster® nozzles are made of a hardened alloy to combine the durability of an abrasion-resistant nozzle with the thermal efficiency of a conventional brass nozzle. Compared to standard brass nozzles, GammaMaster® nozzles have 2.7 times the thermal conductivity, which means higher nozzle temperatures are no longer necessary when printing with abrasive materials.
Resistant to abrasion
GammaMaster® nozzles handle a wide range of materials with ease. From everyday PLA to rugged fibreglass-reinforced PEI, this exceptional nozzle is a true all-rounder. Particularly impressive is its Rockwell C hardness of 63, making it an excellent choice for printing abrasive materials.
Anti-stick surface
The nozzles feature Slice Engineering's innovative low gamma coating. This lowers the surface energy of the nozzle and prevents plastic from building up on the nozzle tip, clogging the nozzle. With a surface energy of < 30 dyn/cm, the novel coating can be cleaned effortlessly, contributing to fewer printing errors and better printing performance.
The low gamma coating is also more resistant to high printing temperatures compared to PTFE coatings, which also gives them excellent non-stick properties. For example, the coating can withstand temperatures of up to 380 °C, while the nozzle substrate can also withstand temperatures of up to an incredible 500 °C!
Geometry for the perfect fit
Regardless of whether your hot end uses a standard M6 x 1.0 thread, GammaMaster® nozzles provide a perfect fit!
The GammaMaster® RepRap 6 nozzles are suitable for 3-axis FDM printing. Total length of the design: 12.5 mm.
Other advantages at a glance:
- Easier identification of the nozzles due to engraved sizes on three sides
- Compatible with metric (6 mm) and standard (1/4 inch) sockets for easier installation
- USA quality

Almost the thermal performance of brass
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
These are better than standard hardened nozzles, but not quite on par with brass or carbide for thermal performance.
Bumping up the nozzle temp about 10-15°C results in similar flow conditions to my plated brass nozzle. Some materials may be okay towards the higher end of their rated nozzle temp even if you don't bump it up, but for what I've tried (ABS, PLA, ASA) I certainly did have to, else it was slightly underextruding.
