Mintion MT15 Air Quality Detector

The Mintion MT15 Air Quality Detector is a compact air quality monitor with up to 15 readings, a colour display with trend graphs and customisable colour bands for quick assessment. It measures fine particles, volatile organic compounds, CO₂, CO, formaldehyde, temperature and humidity in a single device. Designed primarily for everyday 3D printing, it helps you see what happens to the air during a print and whether a filter makes a difference.

Multiple readings on one screen

Rather than requiring several separate devices, the MT15 displays the key air quality readings together: fine particles (PM2.5, PM1.0 and PM0.3), TVOC, CO₂, CO, HCHO, temperature and relative humidity.

Compare particles and gases side by side

Fine particles and odour levels can be tracked alongside each other. This lets you clearly compare measurements before, during and after a print, for example with and without extraction or filtration.

Trend graphs with peak markers

The device plots readings in real time and marks peaks. The display smooths the readings over one-minute intervals. This makes differences easier to see, for example when you measure the same print with and without a filter and overlay the graphs.

Colour bands for quick decisions

Green, yellow, orange and red bands help you assess readings at a glance. You can set the thresholds yourself, along with the levels that trigger alerts, tailoring the display to your room and material.

What to monitor for each filament

• PLA, PETG ► Monitor PM2.5, PM1.0 and TVOC.
• ABS, ASA ► Focus on TVOC and the PM0.3 trend, including a comparison between printing and the subsequent chamber purge.
• Nylon, PA ► Track TVOC alongside temperature and humidity.

Tips for meaningful measurements

• Position the sensor at mid to upper height on the side opposite the door, away from direct airflow.

• Before each test, leave the chamber closed for 10 to 15 minutes to establish a baseline reading.

• Express PM0.3 readings as a multiple of this baseline to make comparisons clearer.

• Overlay the graphs recorded with and without a filter, and note the reduction in peak levels and the purge time.

Designed to complement the Mintion Filtration V1

The MT15 is designed to be the ideal monitoring companion for the Mintion Filtration V1. For PLA and PETG, Mintion recommends printing with the door open and extraction close to the source. For ABS and ASA, the filtration system recirculates air at a low flow rate to keep the chamber warm, then purges it at a high flow rate after printing. The MT15 shows the effect in its trend graphs.
