Bambu Lab Filament Track Switch, X2D

The Bambu Lab Filament Track Switch increases the flexibility of dual-extrusion systems by intelligently managing filament feed between the available nozzles. This eliminates the need to manually move filament spools between different AMS units, which was previously required for correct material assignment.

Instead, the system can dynamically route filaments to the nozzle assigned by the slicer. This simplifies the setup of complex print jobs and allows existing AMS configurations to be used much more efficiently.

By decoupling the AMS from the nozzle, the Filament Track Switch enables dynamic filament assignment. Filaments can be flexibly reassigned during the printing process, further increasing the efficiency of multi-colour and multi-material prints. Furthermore, dual-extrusion printers benefit from shorter changeover times and optimised material management.
